WHAT WE DID LAST

Mikado Technique and Wedding Floristry (Part 1 Spring/Summer / Sustainability)

Location: Nitra, Slovakia
Date: March 2–3, 2026
Duration: 2 days
Languages of instruction: SK, HU
Type: international workshop

This term in Nitra was the first stage of the Mikado program (Spring/Summer). It was a practical two-day workshop focused on wedding floristry, the Mikado technique, and principles of sustainability. The program was conducted systematically, step by step, with emphasis on direct application in real client work. The workshop was held in Slovak and Hungarian and had international participation.

Development and outcomes

The workshop was intended for florists who are looking for a clear technique, stable construction, and repeatable results in their professional practice. The Mikado technique was presented as a system applicable not only to bouquets but also to other sellable floral products. Participants worked on bouquets, wreaths, and other portable decorations, and also carried out a simulation of preparing for a real wedding. The focus was on practice, correct working habits, stability and clean execution, as well as work with shape and proportion. Participants left with portfolio results, new working procedures, practical experience, a welcome package, and a certificate from this stage of the Mikado program.

Participant Feedback

The results are based on an anonymous satisfaction survey from participants of this session and are continuously updated as new responses are received. We publish exclusively real data and authentic evaluations without altering their meaning.

Results

"I love Robko's workshops because they push me forward and completely change the way I perceive floristry. This workshop was clearly excellent and very beneficial, especially for flower shop owners."

"The workshop was amazing, I didn't even want to leave. I have so many new experiences and ideas, which makes me very happy. Robert is an amazing teacher and person, and I am satisfied 200%."

"The workshop was very interesting and the Mikado technique was new to me, I had never tried it before, but after the demonstrations it really caught my attention and I will definitely practice it and continue improving this method. It is very helpful for my work with fresh cut flowers and also with dried flowers, and I will definitely use it. I am looking forward to creating new bouquets and arrangements using the Mikado method 😊. I also really liked the use of materials that many people would consider just garden waste; here you could see how much can actually be used if you keep your eyes open, and Mikado gives it a form."

"I evaluate the workshop overall very positively; everything was very well organized. The techniques were well explained and I appreciated the different types of creations we could try. The only small downside was the slightly weaker lighting in the space."

"The workshop met my expectations, expanded my knowledge, and inspired me for further creation. Everything was perfect. Thank you."

"I would like to thank Robert and his team for two days full of inspiration, new techniques, and ideas. It was great to create in such a positive environment. Thank you."
