MORE THAN A WORKSHOP: A SPACE WHERE PEOPLE CONNECT
One of the strongest values of the workshop in Rybník was not only the floral work itself, but also the community that naturally formed among the participants over the two days.
The setting of FRTUS Winery, shared creative work, open conversations, an evening with a sommelier and time spent outside the usual work rhythm created exceptional ground for networking. Not formal networking, where people simply exchange contacts. But a genuine meeting of professionals who were able to share experience, speak openly about their practice, ask questions, discuss and support one another.
For us, it is fascinating to see that our workshops create an environment where florists do not begin to see each other as competitors. On the contrary — they connect as a community of people who understand that the field can only move forward when experience is not held back, but shared.
This is where we see the enormous added value of experiential workshops. Participants do not leave only with new techniques, a certificate and their own floral works. They also leave with contacts, conversations, new perspectives and the feeling that they are part of a professional community that wants to change, cultivate and move floristry to a higher level.
A two-day workshop therefore becomes more than education. It becomes a space of trust, respect and shared growth — an environment where people do not compare themselves, but strengthen one another.
THE WORKSHOP HAS ALREADY TAKEN PLACE
The experiential workshop Cycle of Life – meadow floristry / sustainability took place on 8–9 June 2026 in Rybník, in the exceptional setting of FRTUS Winery.
Over two days, participants immersed themselves in meadow floristry, vegetative style and a sustainable approach to floral creation. The main theme was the cycle of life — from birth, growth and celebration to maturity, memory and the final farewell.
We keep this page available as a reference for florists who want to understand the atmosphere, level and content of our workshops.
WHAT WE CREATED
The workshop was built around working with natural materials, meadow plants, grasses, herbs and natural constructions. Emphasis was placed on the movement of plants, composition, stability, space and the emotion that floral work can carry.
It was not only technical training. Each work had its own story and formed part of a larger theme — life, time, balance and the relationship between people and nature.
CORE PROGRAM
DAY 1 – THEORY & WORKING WITH NATURAL MATERIALS
–Birth – growth – youth – celebration.
The first day is devoted to the first part of the life cycle. Participants will immerse themselves in the delicacy of meadow plants and create personal, sensitive, and at the same time highly refined compositions. Each piece will reflect the fragility of new life and the joy of growth.
Newborn Bouquet
A delicate, soft, and symbolic composition working with young plant elements – buds, soft grasses, light color tones, and fine textures.
Bouquet for the Mother
A sensitive botanical story about the strength of motherhood and care. Emphasis on natural lines and a light vegetative character.
Bridal Bouquet
Organic wedding floristry based on meadow species, where the bouquet appears as if it has been "gathered from the landscape." Students will learn how to work with the dynamics of plants, movement, and balance.
Wedding Arch
The highlight of the day – group work. Participants will split into teams and create a large-format vegetative wedding arch that feels like a natural continuation of the surrounding landscape. No foam, no synthetics – only constructions made from natural materials.
DAY 2 – LARGE CONSTRUCTIONS & SPATIAL FLORISTRY
Stability – balance – departure.
The second day moves into the second stage of the life cycle, where maturity, the strength of lived years, and finally the quiet symbolism of the end are expressed. Here too, the focus is on vegetative, sustainable floral work, which through its humility and honesty reflects the natural processes in nature.
Interior Decoration
A composition representing home, calm, and a sense of refuge. The work will be connected with the architecture of the space and with the natural structures of plants.
60th Birthday Bouquet
A celebratory yet deep and elegant bouquet expressing life wisdom and the value of years. Work with autumnal tones, grasses, and dried elements.
Funeral Wreath
A quiet, pure form of vegetative funeral floristry – respect for the final moment. The wreath will be created exclusively from natural materials with an emphasis on ecological impact.
Casket Decoration – Demonstration
Participants will not create this piece themselves, but will observe a professional demonstration that explains modern sustainable approaches to designing for the final farewell.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS TOOK AWAY
Each participant received our workshop merch and working equipment upon arrival, which they used during the programme and then took home with them.
Participants also took away new floral techniques, experience with working in natural constructions, a certificate of participation and their own floral works created during the workshop.
The experience was completed by the setting of FRTUS Winery — full-day catering, an evening with a sommelier and a gift of two bottles of premium wine from the winery. The workshop was therefore not only professional education, but also an intensive experience connected with place, wine, landscape and community.
PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOP
The aim of the workshop was to show that floristry can be a craft, a form of design and a sensitive language for important moments in life.
The result was a series of works that were not only visually striking, but carried a story — about beginnings, growth, maturity, memory and the natural cycle of life.
